How reverse recruiting works
- You share your goals. Tell your dedicated recruiter the roles, locations, and salary you’re targeting, and what matters most to you in your next job.
- Your recruiter finds and applies. Every working day, your recruiter searches for roles that match and submits applications on your behalf — with a human reviewing fit, not a script blasting your résumé everywhere.
- You see everything. Every application shows up on your dashboard in real time, so you always know exactly where you’ve been submitted.
- You interview. You step in for the part only you can do — interviewing and landing the offer. We handle the grind that comes before it.
Most members reach real momentum within 2–3 weeks and save 10–20+ hours a week they’d otherwise spend hunting and applying. For the full breakdown of what your recruiter handles at each step, see everything included with a Careerify recruiter.
Who reverse recruiting is for — and who it’s not
Reverse recruiting is a strong fit if you’re:
- Currently employed and job searching on the side, with no time for nightly applications
- Burned out after sending dozens or hundreds of applications with little response
- Open to a range of companies and roles (the wider your targets, the more a recruiter can do)
- Ready to show up for interviews and give feedback along the way
It’s probably not the right fit if you:
- Only want to work at one specific company (you’re essentially paying someone to submit a handful of applications)
- Want to learn to run your own search from scratch — a career coach may serve you better
- Aren’t in a position to interview or respond to your recruiter in the near term
We’d rather tell you that up front than take you on for a search we can’t move.
Is reverse recruiting just bots wearing a human face?
This is the fair question, because a lot of “done-for-you” job search tools are really automation with a friendly label — and the results show it. Here’s how Careerify is built differently, point by point:
- Real human recruiters, not bots. A person reviews each role for fit and applies thoughtfully. We don’t spray your résumé at every listing with a matching keyword.
- Full visibility. Every application is on your dashboard. You’re never wondering what we’re doing with your name — you can see it.
- Your logins stay yours. You get a dedicated email we use to apply on your behalf — or you can have us use your own login if you prefer. It's your choice, and you see every application either way.
- Flat monthly pricing, and we never take a cut of your salary. Many reverse recruiting services charge well over $1,000 a month and take a percentage of your first-year pay on top. We don’t. You pay a flat monthly rate and keep 100% of what you earn.
- Card required at checkout, cancel anytime. You try included trial recruiting first — actual applications going out — before the paid plan begins. If it’s not for you, you cancel before the trial ends to avoid charges.
- A first-week checkpoint. You can see the actual applications your recruiter sends, reply with feedback, and adjust the target list as the search develops.
What we don’t promise: we won’t guarantee you a job or claim a specific placement rate, because no honest service can control hiring decisions. What we promise is consistent, visible, human-applied effort on your behalf — every working day.
What reverse recruiting costs
Across the market, reverse recruiting ranges widely — from a few hundred dollars a month to nearly $10,000, and many services add a cut of your first-year salary. The same field is sometimes sold as a job application service, and the prices there run the same range. Careerify uses simple flat monthly pricing with no salary cut, with self-serve plans from Starter through Executive starting at $150/month, quarterly savings, and a custom Dedicated option for high-volume searches. It’s month-to-month — no long-term contracts, cancel anytime — and every plan includes a dedicated recruiter and full dashboard access. See current plans on our pricing page.
Not every provider bills monthly. Some sell a fixed block of applications up front, which works out cheaper per application but carries no ongoing service and no delivery guarantee — we compare that trade in our guide to prepaid application packs, and the premium end of the market in our Find My Profession alternatives guide and our My Personal Recruiter alternatives guide. The two services that charge a percentage of your salary on top of their fee get the same treatment in our WeAreCareer alternatives guide and our Reverse Recruiting Agency alternatives guide.
Reverse recruiting vs. applying yourself vs. AI auto-apply
| Careerify (reverse recruiting) | Applying yourself | AI auto-apply bots | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who applies | A real human recruiter | You | A script |
| Application quality | Reviewed for fit by a person | High, but time-intensive | Volume over relevance; often irrelevant |
| Visibility | Every application on your dashboard | Full — it’s you | Limited; you may not see what was sent |
| Reputation / account risk | Low — human, deliberate | None | Documented: irrelevant or inaccurate submissions, possible account flags |
| Your time per week | Minimal (you interview) | 10–20+ hours | Low, but you lose control |
| Cost model | Flat monthly, no salary cut | Free (your time) | Usually cheap subscription |
